Josef Newgarden (U.S.) won the Indy 500 in 2024, with an average speed of 167.763 mph. Pato O’Ward (Mexico) was second, and Scott Dixon (New Zealand) placed third. Newgarden, who had won the race in 2023, became the first driver since Hélio Castroneves (2001–02) to win two consecutive Indy 500s.
